When you're experiencing abuse, it's important to know you're not alone and there are steps you can take to protect yourself and get support

Assess your safety

If you feel a threat to life or health, leave the dangerous place immediately. If necessary, find temporary shelter with friends, relatives or contact specialized assistance centers.

Call the police on 102 and describe the situation in detail. In case of physical violence, consult a doctor to fix the injuries - this may be important for further actions.

Get psychological support

Find a psychologist who can help you cope with stress and regain confidence. Many organizations offer free psychological help to victims of violence.

Contact legal support

Consulting with an attorney can help you understand your rights and defense options. Find out about opportunities to get protection through the courts or other legal mechanisms.

Collect the evidence

Record all incidents of abuse: save messages, emails, record dates and events. This will help you protect yourself in the event of further legal action.

Build a support network

Talk to trusted friends, family or colleagues. Their support can be an important resource.
